I don't know much about the inner workings of ftp, but I did find in RFC 959, the statement that "at most, one 100 series reply is allowed per command." It appears that I'm getting two 100 series replies in a row back from the server. I've marked where I think the trouble is starting. Due to better error handling (disconnecting and reconnecting automatically) it does a little better, but just a little - it sometimes gets through two files before failing on the third one.īelow is the log of one transfer where I tried to grab three files: D0909000.pgp, D0910000.pgp, and D0910001.pgp. Today I tried using the latest version of WS_FTP Pro (our LE version was fairly old). I end up having to disconnect from the remote site and reconnect before I can get the next file. The first file will transfer ok, but the second one usually has a problem. I typically grab files with sizes anywhere from 1k to 10M. I've been using WS_FTP LE as the ftp client program and, up until about a week and a half ago, have been able to highlight any number of files of any size and they would all transfer to my PC with no problems. There are often two or more files to be retrieved at one time.
